Sustainers Circle
What is the Sustainers Circle?
First launched in 2024, the Sustainers Circle are donors who not only support the mission of Birth Detroit, but want to take an active role in ensuring Birth Detroit has the resources needed to provide care for generations to come. By pledging a monthly gift, this group sustains our big dreams and visions for radically transforming the spirit of care in Detroit.
How does the Sustainers Circle work?
Members of the Sustainers Circle set up a monthly donation to Birth Detroit. This monthly gift ensures our clinic staff have the resources they need to support Detroit families.

Your donation of $10-$20 a month can provide lactation supplies and fresh groceries ensuring a new family is fed and thriving.

Your donation of $75-$100 a month can fund a cohort of moms and birthing parents in Birth Detroit's Mamas in Motion exercise program.

Our vision is a care campus that supports the whole family with additional birth suites, wrap-around services, child care, education, and more.

A $1.5 million Endowment ensures we can provide care regardless of changes to policy or insurance plans.

Launching 2026, we are providing care to families for newborns to 2 year olds to fill gap of primary care providers in Wayne county.

Postpartum care by our midwives is what makes Birth Detroit different. We want to expand and extend the services we provide through the first birthday of a child.

Funding cuts have meant many maternal mental health providers have limited or stopped their services. We have created our own programming to address this crisis.

Beyond the care of talented midwives, our families need food, housing, and transportation assistance. This fund ensures that families receive all the support they need.

A grant from your donor-advised fund will be used to subsidize care for all birthing people at our Easy Access™ Clinic, pre and post natal supplies for families, health screenings and more!

Endowment
Birth Detroit was chosen by the community to receive an amazing gift - the chance to create a $1.5 million endowed fund through Michigan Central Station Children's Foundation.
You did it! Because of our amazing donors we were able to raise $500,000, that was then matched by the Children's Foundation of Michigan!
What comes next:
We will continue to grow our Endowment. This fund will act as savings account, allowing us to use the interest to fund crucial programs. We want to invite you to help us grow the Endowment so we can continue to offer free clinical services like the Easy Access Clinic.
We can't do it alone - we need the help of our supporters to reach this ambitious goal.
