Welcome
Detroit Homecoming Guests!
Join as us we midwife a new system—rooted in love, and born right here in Detroit.
The Problem:
Black mothers are more than 75% more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than White mothers. From 2016 to 2020, nearly three-quarters of pregnancy-related deaths in the state were deemed preventable.
The Solution:
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) “To address the disparities in Black maternal health, expanding access to midwives and doulas is essential. Midwifery care reduces preterm births and cesarean delivery rates and improves breastfeeding outcomes, particularly among Black mothers.
Birth Detroit offers the following services: Easy Access Clinic (EAC) for prenatal and postpartum care, birth center birthing at our Birth Center, Education classes including Childbirth Education and breastfeeding support, and Well-woman care.
Birth Detroit is here to be part of the solution.
We dream of a world where birth is safe, sacred, loving, and celebrated for everyone.
