Meet LaRonda Allen
MSN, BSN, NP
Nurse Practitioner
LaRonda Allen joins Birth Detroit as a proud product of the Detroit Public Schools (DPS) system, where she first discovered her passion for newborn and pediatric care through a DPS-sponsored high school program. She began her academic journey at Michigan State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Physiology with a pre-med focus. Upon completion of that degree, LaRonda realized her true passion for nursing and felt that it was more of a fit for the impact and connection she wanted with her future in patient care. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan in 2006, followed by a Master of Science in Nursing in 2018.
With over 15 years of experience having worked at Hutzel Women’s Hospital & Henry Ford Main, LaRonda has served in multiple roles within Women’s Services. For the past three years, she has worked as a Field Nurse Practitioner across Metro Detroit, providing care to adults, postpartum women, and pediatric patients through a local insurance provider.
LaRonda is an active member of the Michigan Council of Nurse Practitioners and the Minority Advanced Practice Nurse Network.
As a Nurse Practitioner at Birth Detroit, LaRonda will lead the Well Baby Program—an initiative designed to provide a range of care for infants through preventative services, health screenings, and education. LaRonda is committed to empowering families with evidence-based knowledge to support the health and well-being of their children.
